5 Steps to Combat the Coronavirus according to WHO

The World Health Organization recently launched a “Pass the message to kick out coronavirus” campaign which promotes five key steps for people to follow to protect their health against COVID-19 infection.

By following these essential five steps, you can combat the virus in your own way and help flatten the curve.

1.    Hands

WHO Goodwill ambassador Allison Becker says that it all starts in our hands. It is essential to wash your hands frequently with soap and water. If not, use an alcohol-based solution with at least 60% solution.

3. Face

As much as possible, avoid touching your face, your eyes, nose, and mouth. These are the points of entry of the Coronavirus. In a span of one day, your hands will touch too many surfaces in one day. It can quickly pick-up viruses. Contaminated hands can carry this virus to your eyes, nose, or mouth.

4.    Distance

Keep at least a 2-meter distance from others. For now, avoid socializing or participating in events or gatherings. It is important to step back and maintain social distancing.

Through this, you can avoid droplets from someone who is infected, who coughs or sneezes close to you. You can also reduce the rate of infection by simply staying at home.

5.    Feel

It is important to acknowledge that if you are sick or unwell, you need to stay home. Follow the instructions provided by local health authorities.
